Again and again artists discover the potential of series and variations anew. This allows them to develop a topic or to see things from changing perspectives. Thereby they play with creative devices as well as with the freedom to search for individual creative possibilities in overlapping arrangements, as well as to find surprising changes of viewpoints – certainly also as related to the subject of the exhibition.
What ideas and concepts are associated with series and variations? The Graubünden art collection is rich in examples, of which a selection is shown here.
