Thomas Hirschhorn
22.08. – 06.12.2026

Born in Bern, Thomas Hirschhorn grew up in Davos. He attended the Zurich University of the Arts and gained international recognition for his installations from the mid-1990s onward. He has lived and worked in Paris since 1984. Under the title My Atlas, the Bündner Kunstmuseum presents an overview of Thomas Hirschhorn’s work thus far: The work My Atlas (2025) is a personal interpretation of the concept of an atlas, inspired by Aby Warburg’s Mnemosyne Atlas. It serves as a connecting element between the artist’s various works from the early 1980s to the present day, highlighting his diverse relationships as well as his artistic, social, and political relevance. The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to gain deeper insight into the complexity of Hirschhorn’s oeuvre.
The exhibition is curated by Stephan Kunz.

An exhibition by the Helga de Alvear Museum in collaboration with the Bündner Kunstmuseum Chur. Originally curated by Sandra Guimarães.
