The Bündner Kunstmuseum in collaboration with the Fundaziun Capauliana and the Fundaziun da cultura Lumnezia is organising an exhibition in the Casa d'Angel in Lumbrein. This exhibition is the commencement to establishing the "Casa d'Angel" as a cultural centre for the valley. The collection of the Fundaziun Capauliana forms the Basis for this exhibition. Duri Capaul (1923-2009) who came from Lumbrein and his wife Clara Capaul-Hunkeler (1926-2010) assembled an extensive collection of Images referring to Graubünden. Contained in the foundation are almost 300 Images of Val Lumnezia. From this rich stock of drawings, paintings and photographs - together with a small selection of works from the collection of the Bündner Kunstmuseum - an exhibition has been arranged, which reflects specific views ans aspects of the valley. Thus renowned artists such as Alois Carigiet and less known painters are positioned side by side. Contemporary photographs by Anna Lenz, Thomas Popp or Ester Vonplon enter into a dialogue with historical Images, uninhabited landscapes by Bryan Cyril Thurston Encounter watercolours by Georg Peter Luck, which document the construction of the Zervreila power station.
The exhibition conveys a very diverse Picture of Val Lumnezia. The different aspects of this Region and the varied artistic perspectives constitute the core of the exhibition in the interior of the Casa d'Angel, which was renovated by the architect Peter Zumthor in the 1980s.
