Archives – 80 Years of Bündner Art: An annual exhibition celebrating the 80th anniversary of visarte.graubünden
The Bündner Kunstmuseum Chur was reopened in summer. After a two-year intermission, the museum is again able to mount its traditional annual exhibition of Grisons artists.
In 2016 visarte.graubünden is celebrating its 80th jubilee. Visarte is strongly committed to supporting visual artists (the fine arts and the producers thereof) in the Canton of Graubünden.
The Bündner Kunstmuseum Chur has a number of reasons to roll out the red carpet for local artists as well as Visarte to celebrate this occasion: It is mounting the annual exhibition over 1'000 m² throughout the entire new museum building. The jury has selected 54 artists from the 114 dossiers that were submitted as alluding to Visarte’s anniversary with a thematic focus on "archives". With this selection the exhibition will be presenting a broad overview of contemporary art production in Graubünden. Additionally Visarte members will be introducing themselves in Truclas , a small installation with works that were executed especially for this occasion.
We are taking this is an opportunity to celebrate and organize numerous special events with Grisons artists for the duration of the exhibition.
