The Werner Coninx Foundation handed over a large part of its significant graphics collection as permanent loan to the Art Museum Graubünden in 2018 with almost 1000 works by Cuno Amiet, Giovanni Giacometti, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Erich Heckel, Max Beckmann, Herman Scherer, Johann Robert Schürch and others. For the Art Museum Graubünden this is to date one of the most extensive and most important enlargements in the history of the collection. What is more the dark sides of Expressionism prove to be a particular focal point in the Coninx collection and are at the centre of the selection.
