Since the beginning of her artistic career Daniela Keiser ( *1963 ) has explored various representational formats in her work. The focus is on the relationship between image, language, and text. Her large-scale installations often take up the whole room. Daniela Keiser’s works are usually the result of her exchange with artists from different cultures and from other fields such as music, literature, and architecture.
For the Art Museum Graubünden, she is creating a multisensory, walk-through installation. In large photographs, she refers to a traditional Indian art form in which patterns are drawn on the ground in front of house entrances. Within these patterns, signs can be identified, though their meaning remains concealed.
In addition, the entire floor of the exhibition space is painted. Inviting reflection, conversation, and exchange. Sign language plays a central role as the fifth national language in this context. The Labor of the Art Museum Graubünden thus becomes a social space in which different forms of communication are explored and negotiated.
